3 Things To Do If Your Porsche Gets A Flat Tire

3 Things to Do If Your Porsche Gets a Flat Tire

You may experience a puncture while on the road, or you may come into your garage one morning to find your Porsche tilted at an odd angle because the air has left one of its tires. Let’s look at what to do in either situation.

What To Do if Your Tire Becomes Flat When Parked

1. Look for Embedded Objects

Crouch and run your hands carefully over the tire treads and sidewalls. If your tire suffered a slow puncture overnight, there may be a nail or other metal object embedded in the rubber. You might also find a deep cut or crack in the rubber.

2. Temporarily Re-Inflate the Tire With Sealant

Whether you find the cause of the puncture or not, you need to get your Porsche to a dealership to have the punctured tire replaced. Tire sealant can often help you get there.

To fill your tire with sealant, you need to apply the sealant’s nozzle to the tire’s air valve and press the button. The sealant will fill the tire’s interior and bring it up to suitable inflation. You should then be able to drive straight to the dealership.

3. Replace the Tire With a New One

If you don’t have tire sealant, you can also attempt to replace the punctured tire at home. If you’re unfamiliar with this procedure, it may be more convenient to purchase some sealant, so you can get to the dealership and have a trusted technician do it for you.

What To Do if Your Tire Becomes Flat While Driving

1. Find a Safe Place To Pull Over

If you experience a punctured tire while driving, calmly find a safe place to pull over. Once parked, turn on your hazard lights so that other vehicles can see you.

2. Re-Inflate or Replace the Punctured Tire

You can now use tire sealant to re-inflate the punctured tire, which should allow you to reach your closest dealership. Alternatively, if you have a spare tire with you, you can carefully jack up your car and replace it yourself.

3. Contact Your Local Porsche Dealership

The safer, surer, more convenient option will often be to make use of the roadside assistance program that many dealerships offer. You might also call AAA or a similar roadside assistance program to help. They can promptly advise you on what to do, or send out a technician with a spare tire to resolve your problem.
